Corrective Services Officer Unfairly Dismissed After Falling Asleep On Job

Corrective Services officer unfairly dismissed after falling asleep on job

A Brisbane-based Corrective Services officer who was unfairly dismissed after falling asleep on the job has won his job back.

The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission found overwhelming evidence the dismissal was harsh, unjust and unreasonable.

Commissioner Roslyn McLennan accepted Paul Weaver suffered from an undiagnosed medical condition at the time.

She subsequently ordered Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) to reinstate him in addition to reimbursing him for lost wages.
